The absence of the term 'jihad' is telling
Our mainstream media are desperately scrambling to hide any politically incorrect facts surrounding yesterday's horrible massacre at Fort Hood, TX . Imagine if a fundamentalist Christian had done this at a "gay" pride parade. That horrific, unBiblical crime would be instantly linked to the hypothetical killer's religious beliefs. There would be no search for "root causes" or a history of "harassment" or "bullying" used to exonerate the criminal. All sympathy would be (correctly) directed to the victims of the crime. There would be brow-furrowed "analysis" of "objectionable" Bible passages ad infinitum.
Let us compare this hypothetical with the treatment in our press of the actual Muslim perpetrator. Today, we see a press release by Islamic groups such as CAIR and much hand-wringing about "blaming Muslims" and "unjustified" suspicion of Muslims. "Islamophobia," not the shooter, seems to be the real culprit.
The media imply his religion is completely irrelevant to this crime, but the facts seem to be getting in the way of this highly varnished explanation.
He is seen in surveillance video in full Islamic garb en route to murdering innocent (and unarmed) soldiers and civilians.
The NY Times reports that the murderer was shouting "Alahu akbar" during his attack. Why is this not a hate c rime?
Major Nidal Malik Hasan is described by the Associated Press as having posted "radical" statements on the web. The subject matter of these radical postings? Only about 400 words into the article is the word Muslim. This is pro-Muslim spin.
It seems that in the aftermath of the 911 attacks (perpetrated by Islamic terrorists), Major Hasan may have felt harassed.
Counseling combat veterans suffering from PTSD seems an odd career path for a "devout Muslim" who was known to hand out Spanish language Korans to his "infidel" neighbors. After receiving a free education on the US taxpayers, Major Hasan decided that he was a conscientious objector. Of course, he had the option to resign his commission at any time. If he objected to US foreign policy, he was free to leave.
Major Hasan may have been "uncomfortable" with Americans grieving over their fellow countrymen being murdered by cowardly hijackers. If only Nobel Prize winner Obama could have had a non-alcoholic "beer summit" to "dialog" with Major Hasan .
Leave it to our media to look for excuses on the terrorists behalf. Hasan was upset.
That makes it OK.
