We Have A Winner! 2009: ALMOST History Contest

ELVISNIXON.com has devoted many hours reviewing the dozens of thoughtful entries to our newly minted contest asking "Who were the biggest losers" of 2009?"

THANK YOU to all our readers who took the time to participate.

We had a few goofy answers (Thank you, Mr. Fabian, for the inexplicable nomination of the Doobie Brothers).  Most of our readers showed a more thought-provoking attitude than our mainstream/managed media allows. There were no mentions of Tiger Woods or the late "King of Pop" Jackson.

It was a long and difficult process but the winners are:

First runner-up:  JimmyZ of theJimmyZshow.com who writes:

Barack Obama:

Per Rasmussen: In January, the day after inauguration on the 21st, he hit a high of +30 in the Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll. 11 months later, on December 22nd, he hit his low of -21. That's a 51 point drop in 11 months. Unheard of.

And our winner is Erin of Slovenia, who writes:

"I'd have to say the victims of the Fort Hood shooting (along with American citizens who depend on the army to protect them). Why? Well, to begin with, the obvious reason is that their deaths should have never happened. Soldiers and the rest of us have much to fear if radical Islamists can manage to find there way into the US forces. Somebody needs to shut the back door the enemy has been allowed to waltz through."

Impossible to argue with that.
