*Super Bowl Special* Kill Tim Tebow? Hatred and Censorship from The Left
The Los Angeles Times ran a breaking story that characterized a group who object to Tim Tebow having been born. They feel it would be better had he been killed. Think this is a sick joke? Well, it is certainly sick, but tragically it is no joke. The conclusion is inescapable.
Tim and his Mother are to be in a Super Bowl ad presenting the facts surrounding his birth.
The group objects to the fact that Tim Tebow was born.
What the Times calls a "women's group" is in fact a pack of anti-Christian zealots.Their rabid support for killing unborn babies in the womb is so extreme that they are calling for censorship of a commercial in which Tebow expresses thanks that his Mother chose not to abort him.
"An ad that uses sports to divide rather than to unite has no place in the biggest national sports event of the year -- an event designed to bring Americans together," said Jehmu Greene, president of the Women's Media Center. The center was coordinating the protest with backing from the National Organization for Women, the Feminist Majority and other groups. She is in favor of censorship. Why? The answer: because the pro-abortion argument survives only when it remains unchallenged. That is their concern. To them, the pro-life cause has no place anywhere, let alone the most-watched commercial stage.
Is it not interesting that a so-called women's rights leader defines an anti-abortion message as dividing us. Apparently a pro-abortion message unites us?
These so-called "womens groups" do not represent women; they represent special interests who profit from the abortion industry and subsidies from the Obama administration.
Tim Tebow has won both the Heisman Trophy and the National Championship of college football (twice)with his Florida Gators team, but Tim Tebow is much more than a football star. Tim Tebow represents all that people like Jehmu Greene despises. Tim Tebow is a born-again Christian who is unapologetic about his faith.
He spends his free time serving in orphanages in third world countries, orphanages that are filled with children whom people like Jehmu Greene wishes were killed off before they were born.
The L.A Times states that ad was paid for by what they call the "conservative Christian" (why never call a group "atheist Leftist"?) group Focus on the Family is expected to recount the story of Pam Tebow's pregnancy in 1987. After getting sick during a mission trip to the Philippines, she ignored a recommendation by doctors to abort her fifth child and gave birth to Tim, who went on to win the 2007 Heisman Trophy while helping his Florida team to two BCS championships.
Tim Tebow serves the helpless, the poor and the forgotten.
Jehmu Greene is a person represents identity politics. Her biography is filled with terms like "diversity", "urban", "green", "activism", "pop culture", "coalition", "meaningful way" and other key terms that are designed to pit one group against another. She has never represented American citizens -- only select groups that she tries to give an advantage to, over all others. She is a major proponent of all sorts of hateful language against Christians, the Tea Party movement and others.
These groups who constantly accuse Christians and conservatives of being narrow minded are seeking to censor a commercial on national television. Their howls for censorship betray the truth about these jackals.
The time to act is now. If you are for freedom of speech, freedom of religion, human life or just respect the American virtue of the right to disagree please spread the word. We need everyone who can to contact CBS now and encourage them to stand up to this anti-American pressure.
As for me, if they decide to cancel the commercial, I will not watch the Superbowl, nor anything else on CBS. If they cancel, it is a clear message to me as a pro-lifer that my patronage of their network is unappreciated. That, however, won't be in my message to them. They are planning on running it as of right now, and they don't need threats. They just need some backbone reinforcement. Thanks and admiration will do just fine.
Timeliness is important. I'm sure there is support within the network for dropping the ad, and that contingent won't give up. Some support right now might help keep this ad in its prime-time location.
