Obama's "Mark of the Beast"? Illegal Immigration;Police State Solution

You cannot simultaneously have open borders and a welfare state.

Resources will be exhausted very quickly and those immigrants who moved to the US in order to receive free medical (Obamacare) free school (mandatory state warehousing, i.e. K-12 "education") and other unconstitutional benefits will riot and march (as they do in their homelands) and present us with the alternatives of a police state enforcing order or third world anarchy (see the hellhole that is Senegal, or Tijuana, Mexico)

The obvious answer is to close the border.  The obvious answer is to enforce the laws that are already on the books.

In the past week Bill O'Reilly has taken up the cause of RINO Lindsay Graham's "National ID Card." O'Reilly has championed the cause of a national "biometric" identification card that contains the persons DNA and is allegedly "tamperproof." O'Reilly actively sought the approval of this measure from a wide range of guests including comedian Dennis Miller and former CNN host and amnesty oponnent Lou Dobbs

RINO Senator Lindsey Graham, R-SC along with his liberal friend Senator Chuck Schumer, D-NY, is calling for among other things a national ID card to stem the flow of illegal immigration with comprehensive immigration reform the final goal. On the O’Reilly Factor last Tuesday evening, host Bill O’Reilly said he favored a National ID Card citing among other things the additional taxes that would be collected through reduced fraud and called it a “moneymaker for the US”. He said he wanted it “fast -tracked and done this year.  Dobbs, a man credited with bringing Illegal Immigration to the forefront of the political debate “reluctantly agreed” with O’Reilly on the National ID Card. “For the same reasons I supported REAL ID, I support this.” He said. Privacy concerns are no doubt taking a back seat.

O’Reilly has compromised throughout the debate on illegal immigration. In 2007 he even said that the "Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007", otherwise known as "The Secure Borders, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Reform Act" (talk about spin), was the best we were going to get. In other words Amnesty for 12-20 million illegal aliens was the best we could hope to obtain.

Forcing US citizens to carry a national id is outrageous and touting this police state measure as a "cure" for the government provoked illegal alien crisis in treachery at its worst.

This is an awful idea.

The Los Angeles Times featured two front page article's that present the very serious nature of our current governmental elites laissez faire attitude towards illegal immigration:

"Detectives are investigating whether a triple shooting that left two men dead in Moreno Valley was tied to a "drop house" used to smuggle illegal immigrants into the United States...One victim died at the scene. A second was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said. While investigators were at the scene, they discovered a third victim who had run to a nearby store after he was wounded, Deputy Melissa Nieburger said. The Press-Enterprise said the surviving shooting victim claimed that a "coyote" who had smuggled him and others into Moreno Valley opened fire after demanding money for his efforts"

Couple that with the following "spin" by the leftist managed media:

".. A pair of influential senators presented President Obama with a three-page blueprint for a bipartisan agreement to overhaul the nation's immigration system, but the proposal's viability is threatened by politics surrounding the healthcare debate.

Sens. Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), in a 45-minute meeting Thursday in the Oval Office, also asked for Obama's help in rounding up enough Republican votes to pass an immigration bill this year...Graham said the elements included tougher border security, a program to admit temporary immigrant workers and a biometric Social Security card that would prevent people here illegally from getting jobs. Graham also said the proposal included "a rational plan to deal with the millions of illegal immigrants already in the United States."

One supposes that the "logic" of this incredibly bad idea is to rally illegal aliens to protest (en espanol?) in favor of Obama's socialized medicine plan.

If you were an illiterate, ignorant peasant from Guatemala, Honduras or Mexico, would you not travel to the USA for free healthcare? That seems to be Obama's goal, flood us with even more potential dependents who will vote democrat for life (as will their 29 children).

But what about us? Living in America, did you ever think you'd experience the invasive government, big brother tactics that we've come to see in movies of Nazi Germany? "Where are your papers?!?" Well, that is exactly what your government is currently proposing, supported by Lindsay Graham (R-SC), the Republican Senator who also supports closing Guantanamo, moving terrorists to American soil, and Cap & Tax legislation, the tri-fecta of treason that one has come to expect from a RINO Republican.

Yes, it's true. Lindsay Graham is working with Chuck Schumer (D-NY) (our first clue it's a bad idea) to create amnesty legislation for the 10-15 million illegals currently in our country. The Obama Administration has vowed to count as many illegals as possible during the 2010 census, and has created Spanish-only marketing materials to specifically target them, so that they can receive representation in the House of Representatives. This is outrageous.  Illegal aliens will receive a vote in our government.

Another outrage is that our government would treat the actual citizens like criminals. These national ID cards would require your personal information stored on a computer chip. This would include, at a minimum, your fingerprints. Illegal search and seizure anyone? What happened to the Fourth Amendment?

We need to keep in mind that many Americans will be persuaded by Bill O'Reilly that this new id is the answer to our problems. The problem is that O'Reilly, while he may be right on many issues, is dead wrong on this one. In the first place this is nothing new. Back in 1997 a congressional subcommittee held hearings on H.R. 231, legislation proposed by Rep. Bill McCollum, R-Fla., to "improve the integrity of the Social Security card." McCollum's bill would have mandated a personal photograph on each Social Security card in order to make it as counterfeit-resistant as a passport. In theory, illegal aliens would be unable to use forged credentials when applying for jobs. McCollum narrowly failed to win passage of his bill in the House.

Supporters of the McCollum bill argued that making the Social Security card fraud-proof is far different from establishing the kind of internal passport system that typifies totalitarian regimes. In fact, there is even a section in McCollum's bill reassuringly titled "NOT A NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION CARD." But as the old saying goes: if it looks like a duck, waddles like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's a duck.

The McCollum bill, would put in place the entire infrastructure of a de facto national ID card system. McCollum said that his bill would require only a photograph -- no fingerprints, retina scans or other biometric identifiers. But other proponents asked: why not? Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., suggested a Social Security card with "a magnetic strip on which the bearer's unique voice, retina pattern, or fingerprint is digitally encoded."  That was over a decade ago.Obama and Schumer/Lindsay Graham's latest attempt at a national id card is proof that bad ideas never die in Washington; they just wait for another day.

Currently, the ObamaCare plans passed through the House and Senate include national health insurance ID cards. These cards would be required to be tied to your personal financial accounts and information to allow for direct debit of your co-pays and deductibles immediately upon presentation at a doctor's office, and to directly tie your benefits and the allowed procedures to your care. There has also been talk of keeping your medical records on these cards. And since the federal government has already started the process of keeping every American's medical records in a single storage house in Washington DC, for viewing by any medical professional in the country for "research" purposes (read comparative effectiveness research); nothing will be private. And keep in mind that this is mandatory. You will not be allowed to opt out of thi and keep your medical records private under ObamaCare.

Every American citizen will be required to obtain health insurance at the demand of the federal government, and every person will be required to connect their tax returns and financial information to their mandated, government-controlled health insurance, couple that with a national ID card in order to obtain a job, and we're looking at the single largest invasion of privacy of every law abiding American citizen.

And we all know how these power grabs of liberty end up: they grow and grow. Pretty soon these national ID cards will be required for voting. They will be used as ATM cards. They will be your national driver's license. You will no longer be able to travel between the states of the U.S. without your national ID card, to be produced on demand.

And do we really think the criminals, who have been able to skirt Federal Authorities (minus Arizona's Sheriff Joe Arpaio) for the past 50 years, won't find a way around this? A Social Security card could still be counterfeited in the black market along the border -- just as counterfeit driver's licenses from any state are readily available for $100 or less. All the while the law abiding citizens of the United States are tagged and tracked like animals. And let's not even consider what happens when there's a computer glitch! Think the DMV on a bad day...........and that's where you'll be going to try and solve a mere "mix-up" with your data.

Those TV shows where warrants are required to obtain your blood type or finger prints will be things of the past. ALL OF THAT INFORMATION WILL ALREADY BE IN THE HANDS OF THE FEDERAL GOV'T, but trust them when they tell you that the Patriot Act will be used to keep it confidential. Ha!

Then add to the misgivings and complete lack of trust in our government the fact that the current system the federal government maintains, E-Verify, IS INACCURATE 54% OF THE TIME. Can you imagine how easy it would be to clear up your personal information with the federal government?

And before we get mired down in "Hey, you're just a conspiracy theorist," remember when the Clintons were slapped on the wrist for obtaining, perusing and holding on to FBI files of American citizens that they had no right to review?

History proves that government database and ID systems are often abused by government officials when the "crisis" of the moment -- illegal immigration, handgun ownership, terrorism, drugs, etc. -- trumps the protection of every American’s basic civil liberties and privacy rights. The confidentiality of Census Bureau information was violated in World War II to help move Japanese-Americans to internment camps. Earlier this year the Social Security Administration launched a Web site that allowed Internet hackers access to individuals' payroll and benefit records. All a snoop needed was the target’s name, Social Security number, date and place of birth and mother's maiden name. As Senator Grassley noted in a letter to the SSA requiring that the web site be suspended, the system was ripe for abuse "by everyone from nosy neighbors, to legal foes, to ex-spouses seeking financial support."

In early 1995 more than 500 Internal Revenue Service agents were caught illegally snooping into the tax records of thousands of Americans -- often friends and celebrities. The IRS claimed that its new privacy protection measures would protect against a recurrence. But earlier this year, scores of IRS agents were again caught illegally investigating taxpayers’ personal records. Technology has played a vital role in advancing freedom around the world, especially in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. But it has also laid new temptations at the doorstep of government and afforded new ways to micromanage people's lives. It was, after all, Bill Clinton proposed a health security card for all Americans that might have contained the bearer’s lifetime medical records. It has even been suggested that one ID card could be used for both national health care and combatting illegal immigration.

O'Reilly should know that the ID card is hardly a novel idea. The concept once surfaced in a Reagan cabinet meeting in 1981. Then-Attorney General William French Smith argued that a perfectly harmless ID card system would be necessary to reduce illegal immigration. A second cabinet member asked: why not tattoo a number on each American's forearm? According to Martin Anderson, the White House domestic policy adviser at the time, Reagan blurted out "My God, that's the mark of the beast." As Anderson wrote, "that was the end of the national identification card" during the Reagan years

I find it absolutely unimaginable that Barack Obama or Rahm Emmanuel (or Nancy Pelosi,Katie Couric or any other leftist) would ever raise any objection to a national identification card with a reference to the Bible's warnings regarding the mark of the beast.

Don't you?

After watching the recent events that showcase the corruption in Washington, a national ID card tied to my personal information is the last thing I want my government pursuing. And for Lindsay Graham to be complicit in this shows exactly where he needs to be: the unemployment line.

Our federal government has systematically been eroding our personal liberties and freedoms for far too long. Our Constitution does not give them this authority. What happened to states' rights?!?  We need to take a stand. Call your representatives and senators today. Explain this issue to your friends and neighbors. We need to stop this ridiculous and dangerous power grab now.
