The Strange Case of Congressman Hakim Muhammad “Keith” Ellison

The Los Angeles Times front page screamed of Delaware GOP nominee Christine O'Donnell's "rigid morality" and spoke ominously of her potential of turning the US into a "theocracy."

Why?

Because she dared to admit that she was a Christian and actually believed the Bible. Her statements regarding personal faith and encounters with modern day pagans were used as examples of her "extremism."

Oddly the same corporate media spoke in hushed tones of reverance as Obama ,seeking to quell suspicions about his ardent love for islam , bloviated about his "'personal' Christianity." Talking heads such as CNN's Wolf Blitzer showed an as yet unforseen respect for the Christian faith. A faith that they hypocritically predicted would result in "hate" crimes if it's members viewed The Passion of the Christ.

A faith that seemingly renders Reublican O'Donnell unfit for elected office.

This is especially strange in light of the media's warm embrace of Congressman Hakim Muhammad “Keith” Ellison.

Never heard of US Congressmen Ellison?

Maybe that is because he is an ardent member of Obama's favorite "faith community"

Yes Congressman is a muslim.

Unlike Christine O'Donnell's Christianity ,the media has been strangely complacent about the disturbing facts of that religion  and the practices of it's followers.

William E. Saracino of the California Political Review California Political Review points out a few inconvenient truths that our "watchdog media" have overlooked in their crusade to crucify Christian candidates:

When he was sworn into office he refused to take his oath of office on the Bible, substituting a Koran instead. Trying to make a political point he ostentatiously used a Koran once owned by Thomas Jefferson. What Ellison apparently didn’t know is that Jefferson purchased that Koran so he could better understand our Muslim enemy at the time, the Barbary Pirates. Ellison was obviously also did not know that Jefferson’s Koran had been translated by Englishman George Sale, whose introduction to the book declared that Islam was not a fit model for government and that it was not even a divinely inspired religion.

Ellison is open to the idea of substituting the Muslim Sharia Law for the U.S. Constitution in the United States in certain cases. Many readers likely are not familiar with the details of Sharia Law, so a preview of what Ellison has in mind is in order.

Sharia orders that “apostates” and critics of Muhammed, the Koran and even Sharia law itself be killed. Seattle-based cartoonist Molly Norris was advised by the FBI earlier this month to “go ghost'”, meaning she had to move, change her name, and essentially wipe away her identity. Why? Because she dared say that cartoonists ought to be free to include Muhammed in their work.

For that bit of free speech Norris was put on a “death list” by U.S.-born Yemeni cleric Anwar al-Awlaki. Both our President and Ellison, by the way, have been too busy defending the building of the “Ground Zero Mosque” in New York to utter one word in defense of Norris.

Sharia ... demands that gays be executed and that thieves have their hands cut off. It allows women to inherit only half as much as men from their families or other benefactors. Sharia demands that anyone drinking alcohol be flogged and allows husbands to beat their wives for “highhandedness.” And it of course requires women to be covered head to toe..."

Does Christine O'Donnell believe any of this? If not why does Muslim Congressman Hakim Muhammad Ellison get treated with dignity and respect while from sea to shining sea our media seeks to destroy her reputation?

The first time I have read any article about Ellison since he was sworn in. I read half truth articles by a couple of WAPO reporters and the arrogance of Ellison in telling people to dust off their Constitution.
What upset me the most, this copy of the Koran was taken from the Library of Congress and should not have been allowed into the sunlight.

GREAT point- one that certainly would have been slavishly reported had a Veteran requested General Washington's Bible.

Why do people like Ellison deserve preferential treatment?

Our government should seek out the people who threatened that woman and handle them in a manner that would make people think twice about threatening a true American citizen. America should NEVER give into anyone seeking to take constitutional freedoms away from true Americans! Our founding fathers fought for our freedoms, and now we are told to go hide, if we exercise any that offends Islam to the point of being put on a hit list? NO! Protect that woman, and find the monsters who are threatening her and make examples of them all!

Exactly. It sure is not us. Could you imagine if this had happened to Rosa Parks, the outcry in the streets that there would have been? Taking a stand against those who seek to put us into submission to them, is a good thing; as with when Rosa Parks took her stand. ...Debra

What "lies" are you referring to Scott?

      Ashamed of what precisely?

Are you an atheist? If so why "shame"- who is to say what is appropriate conduct? The Almighty State?
