Mainstream Media Ignores First Latina Governor's Historic Inauguration

I'm shocked, shocked to find that Republicans are being treated unfairly by the mainstream media!

On New Year's Day, Susana Martinez was sworn in as the nation's first Latina governor. The Associated Press and several mainstream news outlets failed to mention the GOP governor's Hispanic heritage, while other media outlets ignored New Mexico's historic event completely.

"I think it’s quite obvious that first Latino Democrats are celebrated but first Latino Republicans are the objects of scorn. The media wants the public to think of the Republican Party as an old white guy party and they’ll downplay anything that contradicts with that image."—Tim Graham, Media Research Center.

The Democrat-controlled media refuse to thrust conservative Hispanics into the national spotlight because they are not stereotypical angry leftists.

Martinez doesn't denounce America as racist, disdain its Constitution, or despise its conservative heritage; consequently, she's caricatured by the media as a traitor to her race and a Neanderthal of progressive thought.
